Tips for Securing Your Stay

  • 📅
    Book Early

Holiday weekends and peak ski weeks (Presidents' Day, Christmas/New Year) sell out 3–6 months in advance. Summer weekends are similarly competitive.

  • 🗺️
    Location Matters

North Shore is closer to Palisades Tahoe and Northstar. South Shore is near Heavenly and has the casinos. The West Shore offers the most secluded, scenic cabins.

  • 🚗
    You'll Need a Car

Public transit around Tahoe is limited. Most visitors need a car to reach trailheads, beaches, and restaurants. 4WD is strongly recommended in winter.

  • 💰
    Off-Season Value

Spring (May–June) and fall (September–October) offer dramatically lower rates, fewer crowds, and still beautiful weather. The shoulder seasons are Tahoe's best-kept secret.
